About Munchkin Childcare

Munchkins Childcare provides fun, creative and affordable After School Care in Bristol. We are Ofsted registered and staffed by an enthusiastic team of qualified and experienced managers and Playworkers.

Our aim at Munchkins Childcare is to provide your child/ren with fun and engaging play in a safe, caring and welcoming environment.

We provide opportunities for play that are natural and allow children to be themselves. Play is such an essential part of preparing young children for learning and adult life.

Schools - If your school would benefit from an after school club then get in touch. We can base ourselves in your hall or community room or a nearby hall if space isn’t available.

Parent recommendation

“Our experience of Munchkins ASC at St Anne's is incredibly positive, providing a fun, enriching and safe environment in which we have seen our daughter forge friendships with children outside her class and year group. She interacts well with all the staff who work with a warm and positive ethos.”

— St Anne’s parent

Fay Simcox - Manager

My name is Fay and I’m the owner/manager of Munchkins ASC. Previously I ran a smaller childcare setting which was rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding.’ I also used to work in Television, Radio and PR and have plenty of experience with children including nannying in the Bahamas and France, running summer camps for kids and managing Art classes for toddlers in Bristol. I have childcare qualifications, a degree in Psychology and Communications and a diploma in Public Relations.

My favourite colour is blue...or maybe green...and I have two dogs called Floss and Dolly. I love yoga, running (I need to run more!) and I meditate and journal daily. I love my job - I really do- and I love working with children because they are so full of character and make me laugh A LOT! So a big hello from me.

I’m Sadie and I’m the Deputy Play leader at Munchkins after-school club. I have many years experience working with children, seven of those have been as a play leader in a primary school. I also work during the day with early years children in a nursery school in their two-year-old room. I enjoy working with children as no two days are ever the same, you get to play and have lots of fun!  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my dog Buddy. I’m a big lover of music, especially rock, my personal favourite artists include Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses and Muse to name a few. I would say I’m quite a creative person and I have also been a hairdresser for the past 28 years!

I have been working with children for three to four years and have been working for Munchkins since the beginning and previously worked for the St Anne’s ‘Moonbeams’ after school club. I find my job very rewarding as the children normally brighten my day! Alongside MASC, I work as a lunch lady, a school cleaner, do other childcare work, volunteer for Oxfam and am a practicing artist. As well as all of the above, I am training to be a teaching assistant too. My favourite colour is purple, but I also am a bit of a magpie for rainbow things too. I am a massive animal lover and am hugely into cats, I have my own ginger cat called Cheddar. I grew up in Dorset, moved to Bristol at the age of 19 and studied Fine Art at UWE. I am hugely into crochet and making my own things, as well as going for long walks and exploring! I love going to festivals and immersing myself in as many opportunities as possible!

Originally from Italy. I am a drama and movement therapist, graduated at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama of London. I love working and playing with children by using creativity and art forms as a way to communicate, stay together and have fun.

In my free time, I love participating in physical theatre trainings and sports, such as running and skiing as well as going to theatre and watching musical and movies. My favourite movies are ‘Thelma & Louise’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’. I enjoy cooking very much, especially Italian food, travelling and meeting people from different countries

I'm working in my 2nd year with Munchkins ASC. Before working with children I used to work in call centres and fancied a change. I have 3 lovely children of my own and I've really enjoyed the last year working with children in Munchkins ASC. I've just signed up to do Level 2 in Play and Playwork to further my knowledge. I love to dance and this month I've started back dancing for the first time in 22 years! Tap modern and ballet. I love musicals and my favourite song at present is 'This is me' from The Greatest Showman. I'm also very creative with wooden plaques, scrabble pictures and baking cakes. I don't have a favourite colour as it depends on what mood I'm in. I spend most of my spare time taking my children to clubs like dance and football. This is me!
